1961 Econoline Pickup
There’s a trend that’s taking place in metro Detroit: the conversion of out of commission mechanic shops into restaurants. Two examples include The Garage Grill in Northville and the Vinsetta Garage in Royal Oak.
Built in 1940, the Garage Grill began as a Gulf Oil service station named Atchinson Gulf. Later, the building became home to a Sunoco gas station, a Chrysler car dealership, a dry cleaner, and a garden shop. In 2012, the building was completely renovated and transformed into Garage as a grill and fuel bar.
The Vinsetta Garage has a history all to itself worth searching for. A Woodward Avenue mainstay, Chef Aaron Cozadd’s menu was inspired by the very people he would have served in the shop’s heyday.
It’s 2012 and distinguishing bloggers from journalists has become virtually impossible. The only differences are the channel, the frequency, and the agility that social media provides as a platform to those who embrace it.
It’s 2012 and time to welcome people as media.
