The Death of Anonymous
I’m convinced the integration of Facebook comments into online mass media outlets such as Gannett will lead to some pretty nasty real world repercussions. We were conditioned with the empowerment one feels to express an opinion behind the mask of a screen name. Now with one click someone who disagrees can search based on your first/last name can most likely determine your city, your occupation and your family. Just this evening I watched a bickering argument between two football fans spill over into something much uglier. Let’s not ever take the shroud of identity-less expression for granted.
